João Santos is currently doing his Ph.D on Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies at FLUP, in which he researches space and food in the Harry Potter series (SFRH/BD/119784/2016), a research for which he received a FCT scholarship. He is involved in the project called “Alimentopia: Utopian Foodways” and he has a Master’s degree in Anglo-American studies and his dissertation was also on Harry Potter, more specifically about magic, religion and science. His research interests are 20th and 21st Century English Culture and Literature, focusing on fantastic literature, more specifically, the Harry Potter saga.
