Adriana Bebiano

Adriana Bebiano is Auxiliary Professor at the Department of Languages Literatures and Cultures (Faculty of Arts and Humanities) and Researcher at the Center for Social Studies, both at the University of Coimbra. She holds a PhD in English Literature by the same university. Presently she is the director of the PhD Programme in Feminist Studies and is an elected member of the Scientific Board of the Faculty. She teaches English Literature at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as Feminist Theories and Epistemologies and also teaches other courses on Contemporary Art and Culture. Research interests include Feminist Studies, Shakespearean Studies, Irish Studies – focusing on contemporary Irish Women Writers – and Representations of the body in contemporary culture.
